There are many prayers that can be used to pray for
vocations. Don't be afraid to search the web for many
great prayers. Below you will find the prayer of Bishop
Moynihan for vocations and other prayers for discernment.
Loving God, you sent your Spirit on the apostles to continue

Prayers for Discernment
in Love - Attributed to Fr. Pedro Arrupe, SJ (1907–1991)
is more practical than
finding God, than
falling in Love
in a quite absolute, final way.
What you are in love with,
what seizes your imagination, will affect everything.
It will decide
what will get you out of bed in the morning,
what you do with your evenings,
how you spend your weekends,
what you read, whom you know,
what breaks your heart,
and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.
Fall in Love, stay in love,
and it will decide everything.
An Augustinian Prayer for Vocational Discernment

I give you thanks and praise
that I have life,

You have given me a heart

Quiet the fears and
distractions of my heart long enough
for me to listen to the

of the Empty Chalice
"Father, to Thee I raise my whole being, an empty vessel.
Accept my emptiness, and fill me with Thyself,
that Thy precious gifts may radiate through me and overflow
the chalice of my heart into the hearts of all whom I meet this
revealing to them the beauty of Thy joy and wholeness,
and the serenity of Thy peace which nothing can destroy."
Prayers of St. Ignatius:
teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for reward,
save that of knowing that I do your will.
O Lord, and receive my entire liberty,
memory, my understanding and my whole will.

be defined as 'falling in love'...
