"Pursue Me" is an
invitation to reflect on God's calling
As recording artist, Danielle Rose Skorich entered the
Franciscan community of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ,
she created an album that traces her discernment journey.
She has made a limited number of these albums available for free
to young people who are also seeking the will of God in their
lives.
Her thoughts on the album and on religious vocations are below:
There is a longing in my heart for the
whole world to know the beauty of embracing Christ's call to
enter religious life. If only every young man and woman could
experience the joy of begin chose for so noble a task, for so
intimate a love! In His great mercy, Jesus pursued me relentlessly
until I finally stopped running from His embrace. He revealed the
desire of His heart for my life, and thus transformed my heart
from the one being pursued by Christ, to the one in pursuit of
Christ - '1 want to be your spouse. '
As
I journeyed through the hopes, fears, and surrender of responding to
Jesus' invitation, the Holy Spirit enabled me to express this
vocational journey in song. Ten days before my entrance into the
convent (August 2, 2007), I recorded the album Pursue Me,
with the great hope that God might use these songs to encourage
other young people who are also discerning a religious vocation.
Danielle's journey continued, as she later decided in prayer to
leave the convent. However, the words she wrote and the music
she composed remain beautiful tools for praying about God's calling.
